Welcome!

Hello, I’m so happy you have found my blog!

From the title you can tell that this blog is going to be about one of my obsessions – PINTEREST!!  I love to save pins about craft projects I want to do, exercises I want to try (and do on a regular basis), holiday ideas and most importantly – FOOD!  I don’t know who founded Pinterest, but that person is a genius as far as I’m concerned!  You can follow me my boards here.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I’m a 40 something wife and mom from New Hampshire.  My husband and I have been married for nearly 15 years and we have two children, Owen (13 1/2) and Julianna (12).  We also have six fur babies!  All of whom are sure to make an appearance on the blog at some point.  I work full-time as an Office/Accounting/Human Resources Manager for a small advertising/marketing company – I LOVE MY JOB (ok, 97% of the time!).  I also love cooking, thankfully my family are brutally honest and my co-workers are willing to eat just about anything.

Something very important happened to me last year – I actually followed through on my New Year’s resolution to loose weight.  I’ve lost almost 65 pounds and over 31 inches in the one year, by eating the right foods and hitting the gym – often and hard (no pills, no crazy diets and no surgery).  Pinterest was very helpful to my fitness journey, there are so many GREAT healthy recipes and blogs out there.

So here we are in 2014 and me without a resolution!  I have many pins, I’ve done some of them, but I have way more pinned.  I was starting to wonder why I kept pinning things if I wasn’t making any of them?  I told my hubby that I was going to commit to doing at least one pin per month.

Last month I made this crock-pot cake, Slow-Cooker White Chocolate Raspberry and Cream Cake.  The photo was gorgeous and who doesn’t love a quick crock-pot recipe?  Well, to say it was an epic failure would be an understatement!  It looked NOTHING like the beautiful, food styled, professionally photographed images on the website.  And it didn’t really taste that good either – although my co-workers ate it all and had lots of compliments, but I think they were just being nice!

This got me thinking – how many of my pins would work out as nicely as photographed in just the average kitchen, by a busy Mom armed only with an iPhone for pictures and no food styling abilities to speak of?  Thus this blog was born.  I’m going to make pins – a few times a month – and blog about them – with plenty of photos and share my opinions and feedback.  I’ll try to stay as true to the recipe as possible and I’ll clearly state any changes that were made.

Check back tomorrow when I’ll have my first pin – Valentine’s Day themed!

If you have a pin you’d like to see me try – leave me a comment – I love to try new things.  Have you had any Pinterest disasters?  I’d love to hear about them.
